History

Over 110 years ago, on 15 August 1897, Petrus Hendricus Saan started a messenger service in Diemen. First on foot and later with the help of horsepower he stood at the beginning of a century of removals, special transport and crane hire.

In the course of time archive management and traffic services were added to these specialisms. In 1997 Saan received the designation ‘Royal’ (Koninklijk), in 2005 Saan Ruttrans was founded in Romania. Nowadays, Saan is a company with multiple branches in the Netherlands, which is one of the leading providers of crane hire. When it comes to relocation, Saan is even the largest in the Netherlands. Saan trains its own employees and those of its partners in the Saan Training Centre. Over the years corporate social responsibility has become increasingly important to our policy. Koninklijke Saan is still a true family business.
