Intralox relocation – production lines and office
- Maak-industrie
Walking from the parking lot through the garden of Intralox’s new building, you immediately get the impression that it’s a pleasant place to be. Not only for the people who work there, but also for the insects and other animals that call it home. Inside the office and production area, you can also sense that great care has been taken to create a pleasant and sustainable work environment. Danielle Hagers, Facility Purchase Manager for Intralox Europe, managed the new construction project and the relocation and shares more about the process and her experiences with Saan.
New location with room for future growth
Moving without the customer noticing
Intralox LLC found the perfect location for its new building at Schiphol Trade Park in Hoofddorp. “We chose this BREEAM Excellent location because its sustainability ambitions align well with our core values and because of its proximity to Schiphol Airport and highways. Also very important to us was the location’s accessibility for our employees.” Saan was chosen for the relocation based on a previous positive experience. “I’d worked with Saan before when we moved to Amsterdam in 2012. We found that collaboration very pleasant and professional, so it was a logical choice for us to take on this challenge with Saan.” Four production lines, approximately 10,000 pallets, and 200 office workstations had to be moved, but the customers were to remain unaffected. Danielle Hagers: “We succeeded, mainly thanks to Saan’s excellent guidance and flexibility. You can tell they have extensive experience with industrial relocations and moving large, delicate machines like ours.”
Saan responded to changes in planning
The move was planned on a tight schedule. To ensure everything ran smoothly, a meeting was scheduled before each move, with Eef Spaan, Saan’s project manager.
Danielle Hagers: “We planned very tightly and ensured we always had a buffer from our production. The moves took place on weekends. However, changes regularly occurred during the move because a different order was more convenient for us. Eef and his team were always able to accommodate these, which was very helpful.” When asked if there were any areas for improvement, Danielle Hagers replied: “I can’t think of anything right now, except that during the office move, we had to deal with a different moving company that was less flexible. Fortunately, Eef was there to ensure the move was carried out according to our wishes.”
Reliable partner at your side
Although it was a large job and a very intensive period, Danielle Hagers looks back on it fondly. “I love these kinds of projects: the construction process, from purchasing the land to furnishing and everything that goes along with it. It’s very busy, but incredibly enjoyable. It’s also great to work with reliable partners during such a process. Saan is a reliable partner you want at your side when you have these kinds of major moves planned. Our production and office were even up and running four days ahead of schedule. And we even introduced a new service for our customers during the move!”
