Lifting tasks, Drieburcht Sports Complex

In Wagnerplein in Tilburg, Heerkens van Bavel built the Drieburcht Sports Complex with its swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness area and sauna. The construction of this sports complex was already well advanced. The roof was about to be put on when the swimming pool still had to be installed. During the construction, the Saan truck-mounted crane was first lifted to the second floor with a 70-tonne mobile crane and positioned half in the swimming pool so as to achieve the correct distribution of the maximum load. To this end, support posts made from beams were placed in the basin of the pool for the crane’s feet. Then Saan installed the three prefabricated concrete elements of the new swimming pool weighing 4,000 kilos each. Saan did all this in one day with only one day’s preparation.

With this project, Saan gained an Esta Award in the Telecranes category.
